Return of Winter Ride?

After brief hiatus last Thursday due to the high winds and "blizzard" conditions, then the weekend warm-up and melt, is there anyone planning on braving the elements and riding tonight? I've got the battery charging and the SS ready to roll. Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

  1. Thinking about it. Kinda on the fence - if by fence you mean couch. If not tonight Thursday is looking good.

  2. No go for me this week. Too many family/school activities. Have fun, be safe, keep warm.

  6. Three for three on sliders last night. Three of us braving the very chilly temps: Jeff Z, MR. Kim Lee, and myself. Tried running the south loop and the inner loop a bit to try to stay out of the strong, cold wind. Roads were hard and slick from the rain/melt over the weekend followed by the sudden drop in temperatures. Each of us slid out at one time, unfortunately I think Jeff and Kim took each other out. I went down on the last hill on Bryne before 6 Mile which was just a sheet of ice. Pushing a big gear on that slick stuff doesn't help traction much. We rolled back into the lot, packed up and pretty much all decided to head for home and some warmth while trying to get some type of circulation back to the extremities.

The rumor mill has it that Mr Lee has a SS on the way and it should be ready to roll shortly.

Everyone have a Good Holiday and I'll see you guys back out there most likely after the January 1. Keep the rubber side down!

  7. That was a cold ride and ICYYYY. The fat tires on the mountain bike do give me a bit more confidence and I can ride the crap on the side of the road where there is a bit more traction.
Just took delivery of a Bianchi San Jose and just finished putting it back together. Did a few laps around the neighbourhood and it is a nice ride. It is surprisingly quite heavy for a SS but it feels quite comfortable. Can't make it tomorrow night but I'm hoping some bastards will be out this weekend. I've joined the SS nation.
