I’m not sure when I’ll be able to show my face again, very sad indeed. They actually move their start time up to 6:30 pm, just so they could kick snow in our faces. What could we do, we were out numbered 2:1?
I'm getting pretty sick of the "poachers" co-opting our lot, our ride, and our seat at the HC. I'm about ready to take some "Surly" action and it ain't gonna be pretty boys. Next week Tuesday the sh@it going to go down!
There were a lot of mountain bikers at the start and we did get dropped by them. I actually got dropped when I stopped to fix my goggles and the rest of the 'bastards got dropped when they came back to look for me. We tried to chase but you see, I was riding the one speed which was a slow speed and the boys kept having to wait for me. I needed some company in the grupetto but there was no one else but me. It was a very nice ride even if it was a bit breezy but not too cold and a nice road conditions. Them mountain bikers were kinda speedy.
I'm there next Tuesday, too, Surly. I got a frozen waterbottle still hanging on the bike from Sunday's ride. It's got busted spokes or a black eye written all over it.
Maybe we should suggest they take the northern loop? The could run 7 mile out to Ashley. Then have them take the Dave H/Jeff H loop up Ashley all the way to Greenville. Or have them make the turn and let Cujo get them! They'll be lost and wandering around the wilderness while we're comfy back at the HCI kickin a few back in preparations for MC's return on Thursday!
And sorry I missed the ride on Tuesday. The new job is kickin' my ass this week. Thursday's a no go for me as I have a "prior engagement", but will definitely be "game on" next week.
And Mr. Johnson... just get a bigger gear! At this point I think Studboy has a few SS parts not being used. :) (Though hopefully he gets the stuff he needs and gets his SS back up and running on short order... no more driving his bike into the garage with any luck!)
Aw this sucks! Cant be there thursdsay. This may be my fault I "encouraged" them to start with us. I will be there to defend our honor next week, and take any body blows they want to throw out. Letting them drop you guys was a great strategy to suck them in. Can't wait to see how they respond next week. DACB
why the animosity (real or feigned) toward these guys? They are nice guys( a few from my old church and some are PH club members) out for a ride and just happen to not have cross bikes. I think its great they have gotten better and apparently faster than a few of us on cross bikes. They started out at 6pm as they were not feeling they could keep up with our regular group. Now I guess due to small turnouts on Tuesday(the only day they ride) they are rolling at 6:30pm. I say WELCOME!! If they are violating some group rule then lets correct them otherwise if their crime is being too fast then man up and peddle faster..........as for the HCI tables, sheez, just get your butts there and I know they will make room for this friendly bunch. :)
